  1. I'd suggest that you clear the firewall log, enable logging of all blocked connections in the IDS setup, reproduce the problem and then post your firewall log here. Also don't forget to disable logging as it would make your firewall log grow quickly.
  2. This is a duplicate post, please continue the discussion here.
  3. Try switching the firewall to interactive mode to create the appropriate rules or to learning mode to get the necessary rules created automatically. Once the rules have been created, switch it to automatic mode with exceptions.
  4. If you run a scan via the right-click context menu, make sure to select Clean with ESET NOD32 Antivirus instead of Scan with ESET NOD32 Antivirus. If you run a Smart scan from GUI, it's run in cleaning mode by default.
  5. Threats are cleaned automatically unless you run a scan without cleaning. If you ran the scan via the context menu, make sure to select "Clean with ESET NOD32 Antivirus" from the Advanced options section as opposed to "Scan with ESET NOD32 Antivirus".
  6. Try entering a wrong password 3 times. I reckon you will get a code then based on which customer care will generate an unlock code for your phone.
  7. To Whitesmoke: please stop hijacking other users' threads. Your post was already answered in another thread and the case was closed.
  8. You'll find exclusions in the Configuration editor under Kernel -> Settings -> Exclusions. However, we do not recommend adding any custom exclusions as possible malware in excluded folders would run undetected then.
  9. If you double-click an on-demand scan log record, it should open a new window with scan details.
  10. Please post the on-demand scan log details containing the full path to detected files as well as the threat name and the action taken.
  11. After changing the cleaning mode to "No cleaning" in the Web access protection setup, I was prompted for an action and was able to choose between Disconnect and No action. Anyway, I wouldn't recommend disabling automatic cleaning because: 1, ESET is known for extremely low number of false positives and even in the event of FP you can still restore it from quarantine. 2, you'd have problems cleaning ransomware without using a rescue medium if gui could not display an action prompt window due to malware.
  12. You can upload the file to a safe location and email ESET just the download link.
  13. Probably there's a problem receiving DNS responses to DNS queries. Try changing the DNS server to Google's 8.8.8.8 and see if that makes a difference. For instructions where to change DNS settings, read this article.
  14. Please create a regular account so that you can PM me a SysInspector log for analysis.
  15. Try the following: 1, create a new zone and push the configuration to clients 2, download the configuration from a client and create a new rule. I assume the new zone will appear in the list then.
  16. It's not possible to remove update servers from the list without uninstalling the program and installing it from scratch (besides editing the registry in safe mode). However, what matters is what update server is selected; there can be many servers defined but updates will be downloaded only from the selected one.
  17. In the Scheduler (task editor) window, check the "Revert to default scheduled tasks" box. Applying this setting on clients will effectively remove all existing custom tasks and you will be able to schedule your own tasks from scratch.
  18. See hxxp://www.eicar.org/85-0-Download.html. Given that ESET has extremely low rate of false positives and utilizes mechanisms to prevent false positives on prevalent files, I'd strongly suggest leaving the cleaning mode set at the default level (also it's possible to restore detected files from quarantine). Otherwise you may end up with malware locking your computer without being able to select an action upon detection.
  19. Thank you for reporting this bug, apparently there's a problem with the Italian Configuration Editor when editing certain settings. Please rename cfgeditLang.dll in the ERA install folder and use the English template until the bug is fixed.
  20. I'd suggest carrying on as follows: 1, uninstall ESS using the Uninstall tool 2, empty the system temporary folder (c:\windows\temp by default) 3, make sure the folder C:\ProgramData\ESET\ESET Smart Security doesn't exist or delete it otherwise 4, install ESS v6.0.316 from scratch
  21. What particular web pages do you mean? Are you getting an error when attempting to access them?
  22. Maybe it's a specially crafted (patched) archive. Please submit it to ESET as per the instructions here.
  23. Should the problem persist, post a screen shot of the error you get. At any rate, I'd suggest contacting Customer care who could connect to the computer remotely and troubleshoot the issue.
  24. I, for one, would not run a full disk scan more than once per month as there's not much sense in it. The scan is a time and resource consuming operation. Given that real-time protection protects the user from running threats in archives, too, I don't see much sense in running on-demand scans frequently. Needless to say that there are startup scans run after each update and computer startup.
  25. This issue affected only Windows 7 users with HIPS configured to work in learning mode (not set by default). Please review the HIPS rules and remove the redundant ones.
