Java API for ESET

I'm interested in leveraging our existing ESET solution to scan documents being uploaded by our Java based web applications.  Is this possible with ESET?  Is there an existing Java API?

The best suggestion I can think of is to call ecls.exe from within Java to run it against uploaded files.
