csedgbeer 0
Hi Easy one, just get setup with the ERA virtual appliance on vmware pushing out agents and endpoint software etc. The odd agent/endpoint installation fails, but where are the logs stored on the appliance so i can troubleshoot? Thanks Chris
ESET Moderators TomasP 302 Posted September 16, 2015 ESET Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2015 Hello, The trace log on the server contains the errors of Agent installation and the trace log on the client contains error of Endpoint installation. However, these contain just a summary of the failure. If that won't help, I recommend to run the installation manually with full logging for further investigation. csedgbeer 0
thanks, so on the "detail" column on the deployed task, is that the only available information?
ESET Moderators TomasP 302 Posted September 17, 2015 ESET Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2015 No, trace log is a log file located in /var/log/eset/RemoteAdministrator/Agent/trace.log and /var/log/eset/RemoteAdministrator/Server/trace.log This contains the last error returned by the installer. csedgbeer 0
ok thank you, is it easy to enable ftp/sftp on the appliance, would be quicker for me to use a client to view the files
ESET Moderators TomasP 302 Posted September 17, 2015 ESET Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2015 The appliance is a regular CentOS system with preinstalled ERA, so you can enable it just like on a regular CentOS machine.
