Nevi 0
Hey.. I have the usual problem with livegrid. A prompt come from NOD 32, that it can't get in contact with the Livegrid. I have tried to make ruels on Windows firewall, open port 80 from all the addys the page show. Then there's quiet 2 days, and then they come again. Don't anybody have a batch file, where all the necesarry ruels are embedded, that would really help a lot of people? I have used days on this, and it will maybe be the reason I stop using NOD 32. Can anybody help? Thanks!
Administrators Marcos 5,231 Posted April 18 Administrators Share Posted April 18 What firewall do you use? If all outbound communication is allowed by default, there should be no issues with ESET contacting the servers. If it's a locally installed firewall, then allowing all communication for ekrn.exe and egui.exe should suffice. There is a KB with list of hostnames and IP addresses that various services in ESET products communicate with: https://support.eset.com/en/kb332. I have made some ruels with the livegrid adrs. Keeping port 80 and one more I cant remember.
Administrators Marcos 5,231 Posted April 19 Administrators Share Posted April 19 I'd recommend allowing all outbound communication for ekrn.exe and egui.exe, otherwise you may run into issues with some other services as there are quite many of them that ESET uses as you can see in the KB. itman 1,740
Are you using the Win firewall at default settings? At default settings, the Win firewall allows all outbound network traffic and you should have no issues with Eset LiveGrid Internet connectivity. Solution Nevi 0 Posted April 28 Author Solution Share Posted April 28 I am almost sure I have found the culprit. It seems my VPN have fooled the firewall. An Eset employee told me to try and shut off my VPN, and lo and behold. The problem disappeared. Thank you for the help.
