regarding the issue of synchronizing the last communicated time

We regularly check client devices which are not been used over 6 months and delete them from the ESET PROTECT console.

However, when we check those devices on the devices management APP, some of them actually are being used.

Then, we found that it's because the version of ESET management agent and/or ESET endpoint is old, so the last communicated time can't be synchronized.

So, ESET can still protect devices even the version is old ?

Since we are managing a huge number of clients devices (over 8000), it's quite hard to check the status of all those devices every time.

Is there a better way to solve this problem ?

When does agent stop replicating? After upgrading the ESET PROTECT server? What version did you have before and after upgrade? The version of Endpoint does not matter as long as agent replication is concerned.

If you are referring to the version of modules used by Endpoint, then the answer is protection can be ensured only with up to date modules. If you meant the version of Endpoint, older versions may miss some protection features or may not provide as effective protection as current versions. We recommend keeping Endpoint as well as its modules always up to date. If it's not possible to always use the latest version of Endpoint, use one that has full or at least limited support (https://support-eol.eset.com/en/policy_business/product_tables.html). We recommend using the auto-update feature that also enables administrators to control what maximum version the product can upgrade to automatically.

Thanks !

So, does the last communicated time is only related to the ESET  PROTECT server version ?

Each client device is installed with the ESET Management Agent and the ESET Endpoint Security, but I think only ESET Endpoint Security is auto-updated .
