Transferring licence to new Windows computer

Hello, all.

New to forum. Older man here and not particularly computer-adept. My old computer fried in a storm recently, and am using my new one. Had just renewed ESET license in March, and need to transfer license to new computer.  ESET cautions with emphasis to uninstall any anti-virus/security already on computer before transferring and installing ESET. I understand that; the software programs will be in conflict with each other and cause all kinds of problems (ask me how I know...).

My questions: Does the ESET admonition to uninstall other anti-virus/security include and apply to Windows apps that come with the computer, or just other third-party software, such as McAfee or Norton or such that might be on this computer when purchased? (I did not install anything myself.) How do I know what all is on there, and when I find that info, how do I know if it is something that will interfere with ESET?  I know that I did nothing to change any original Windows settings on my old computer, and ESET worked fine when installed (I think I did remove McAfee if it came with the computer).  I'm running Windows 11 Pro on the new computer.

TIA.

ESET should detect any conflicting application before the installation actually starts. Any antivirus that has real-time protection must be uninstalled.

Sorry, but I don't understand your reply, and I don't know if you've answered my questions above. I don't know what's installed on the computer and I don't know how to find out. I don't know if there is more than Windows Security app, which shows up in the complete apps list, or what is in that. I don't know if there is "Any antivirus that has real-time protection" so that I can uninstall it.

Ok.  I have found my control panel, and some of the system features. It seems I have "Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security", but I see no third party software such as McAfee or Norton.

I had had two hard drive crashes in the past resulting in having to install Win 10 from scratch. After installing Eset on the new Win 10 installation and using my existing license key to activate as shown here: https://support.eset.com/en/kb2792-activate-my-eset-windows-home-product-using-my-username-password-or-license-key , there were no issues encountered in the activation process. Therefore, I would try this first.

If there are issues encountered in Eset activation by the above method, post back with what the issue was.

I think what you're saying, and maybe what Marcos was saying above, is that I should just try it and see what happens, and that if there is a problem, it will become evident, but that if ESET activates without issue, I should be fine.  Is that correct?
