Hello, all.
New to forum. Older man here and not particularly computer-adept. My old computer fried in a storm recently, and am using my new one. Had just renewed ESET license in March, and need to transfer license to new computer. ESET cautions with emphasis to uninstall any anti-virus/security already on computer before transferring and installing ESET. I understand that; the software programs will be in conflict with each other and cause all kinds of problems (ask me how I know...).
My questions: Does the ESET admonition to uninstall other anti-virus/security include and apply to Windows apps that come with the computer, or just other third-party software, such as McAfee or Norton or such that might be on this computer when purchased? (I did not install anything myself.) How do I know what all is on there, and when I find that info, how do I know if it is something that will interfere with ESET? I know that I did nothing to change any original Windows settings on my old computer, and ESET worked fine when installed (I think I did remove McAfee if it came with the computer). I'm running Windows 11 Pro on the new computer.
TIA.
