ESET browser ext WIN10 issue with password display

Recommended Posts

If I open my ESET browser extension to look at a specific ESET generated password, it looks like this &^*#%HJ% *&(*)(. What it does not show is there is an underscore between the % and the *. If I copy and paste the password somewhere, it then shows the underscore. Make sense? From my ESET browser password file if I copy and paste:  5y#_N9AL  It shows the "_"   If I just view it it the list of my passwords it appears as a "space"  Please fix so it it is accurately reflected.  Thank you.

Examples attached

Customer care is supposed to reproduce the issue and report it further to developers. I assume that Ryan works for ESET LLC, hence I'd expect they have already reported it to ESET HQ.

Marcos, below is entire script of the chat.  I am led to believe that it was not forwarded based on his instructions for me to access this forum and submit the issue?  To me, this is a significant concern.  I would assume that ESET retains all copies of chats in their database as well.  Thanks for your reply.

This seems to be way to important to ignore. I trust ESET, but this issue seems way too important to ignore.  I understand that issues happen.  What I do not understand is zero feedback other than it has been "submitted".

It appears to me that no support request which results in a support ticket no. being created was generated by Eset N.A. support personnel from the original chat session.

You can create a Technical Support request from the Eset GUI as shown in the below screen shot:

The attached .doc shows a screen shot of the password not showing the underscore on my screen.

The other pic is where I copied and pasted the password from my ESET password list into a blank MS word document.  There it does shows the underscore at the end.  Hope this helps.

I am starting to believe this might be a keyboard issue in regards to the underscore key that only manifests upon password entry.

Have you tried creating a password on a web site w/o Eset Password Manager using the underscore key and determining if the same issue occurs?

Yes. Here is another example. Attached shows (2) blank spaces which should show the "_'

Here is a copy and paste from ESETBD.jpg PW manager:  19_AbZp._

I created the password on the website, updated ESET when prompted.

It simply will not show the underscore.  All other characters it works fine.  If I had a keyboard issue it should manifest itself when entering the password with an underscore on a website.

Again, I would be happy to re-produce what I see if you are able.
