Product update in progress has been running over 6 hours

I have never seen a product update (14.2.19.0) take as long as this one has for ESET Internet Security ... though when I open the ESET menu says that the update has occurred, yet the spinning ESET icon is in my toolbar showing the product is being updated.  It appears to be slowing my connection speed .. is this normal?  Not for me based on past updates .. so decided to ask.

Please generate an ekrn dump by navigating to Tools -> Diagnostics -> Create when you observe the issue. Then collect logs with ESET Log Collector and provide me with the generated archive for perusal.
