haigy 0
We are using the latest version of ESET Endpoint Security 6.9.200 on MacOS. I am trying to block websites by categories for example all adult websites, all gambling websites etc. My settings: Web access protection - ports used by HTTP protocol (80, 8080, 3128,443) Web control - Categories based action - categories Adults, Gambling etc, Access rights Blocked, Severity Always. These websites are not being blocked I am able to access all gambling websites etc. It works if I block by URL but not category. Anyone able to tell me why? Thanks. Administrators Marcos 5,295 Posted October 4, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 4, 2020 Please provide some examples of websites that were not blocked. Are they blocked on Windows? Are there also http websites that were not blocked?
haigy 0
I haven't checked Windows yet. Example gambling websites: bet365.com, ladbrokes.com, skybet.com, 32red.com, williamhill.com.
Administrators Marcos 5,295 Posted October 5, 2020 Administrators Share Posted October 5, 2020 I'd recommend opening a ticket with your local ESET support and providing them logs collected as per https://support.eset.com/en/kb3404 for perusal. The issue may be caused by the fact that SSL filtering is not supported on Mac or there's a problem communicating with ESET's DNS servers to retrieve website categories if filtering doesn't work with http websites either.
