update error unauthorized access

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have recently upgraded ERA to version 7 and I have few Windows Server 2003 x86, which I cannot upgrade to the latest version of Server OS due to some software compatibility.

Currently I have installed EFS version: 6.5.12018.0, it is communicating with ERA and also activated remotely but while trying to update its giving error Unauthorized access, I followed the troubleshooting as per some other forum threads but its not resolved. So I am attaching logs, please check and resolve.

Please carry on as follows:
- install Wireshark (an older version 3.0 or v2 if 3.0 cannot be installed on Windows Server 2003)
- enable advanced update engine logging under Tools -> Diagnostics in the advanced setup
- start logging with Wireshark
- run update
- disable / stop logging
- provide fresh ELC logs as well as the Wireshark log.

You have attempted to use an application which is in violation of your internet usage policy.

Probably a proxy server used in your organization filters the traffic and prevents ESET from accessing our update servers. It should be configured to allow communication with our servers as per https://support.eset.com/en/kb332-ports-and-addresses-required-to-use-your-eset-product-with-a-third-party-firewall.

Actually there is no proxy configured in here, all other endpoints are getting updates but system with server 2003 facing problem.

I also tried configuring mirror update but the error is same.

Maybe blocked by FortiGate Application Control:

It has a category "Update" which is also mentioned in the notification that ESET received:
