[ESS 10 Final release date.]

 

Thanks, I'm referring to the upgrade form ESS v9, is that ESS v10 or EIS v10 / both?. As the ESS v10 release is not present in my ESET supplier download page: ESET for Multi Devices (5 seats), I would like to know which is the best version to download and install.

 

 

You can upgrade from ESS v9 to ESS v10 by downloading the installer from the ESET website. Different regions may organize the download pages differently, but on the US side, the ESS v10 page is located here (version 10.0.369.0)  https://www.eset.com/us/support/download/home/smart-security/

Also, ESS v10 is a part of MDS.

Thanks, but I would like to know on what release of v10 ESET will be focussing by matter of support and bug-fixes. Because it's not real to have 2 version revised at the same time. What does ESET advise to install then.

I think both will receive equal focus for bug fixes and updates. With the exception of added features they are the same.

I'm actually not sure @m4v3r1ck if you're referencing the release of v9 to v10, or whether you mean "which v10 build will focus on support and bug-fixes". If the first, we have fully released v10, which replaces v9 for current users for a free upgrade. If the second, the currently released v10 is the officially released ESET product. Previous versions will be updated according to our EOL policy: hxxp://support.eset.com/kb3678/

Hi TomasP,

 

Uninstalled ESET IS 10.0.359.1 and re-installed ESET SS 10.0.359.1 on my workflow machine and no more crashing of the GUI. 

 

So for now I'll keep this version of ESSv10, as I don't need/want to use my workflow machine as a test-rig, I'll install and test the EIS v10 at a later moment again onto a test-SSD. Keep you posted.

Additional issue!

Being in Interactive mode for the firewall protection, some pop-ups for rules suddenly disappear. the tray-icon disappears and the ESET main splash-screen shows itself again. Never ever had this behaviour in previous versions of my ESET CSP and SS! Sometimes the EGUI.exe is no longer present in Task Manager!

Help appreciated!

After waking from ONLY a monitor sleep, the ESET Main UI (egui.exe) disappears from: Taskmanager > Process / Users / Details. When logout and login again it fires back up.

Thanks for clearing some confusion regarding the several ESET products. On my Mac Pro Windows 10 I installed EIS v10 on my laptop Windows 7 EES v10, because of the anti-theft feature in ESS v10.

Don't cry like a little child,  since version 10 smart security is another program than previous versions and is expensiver  than smart security 8 or 9.

You have a licence for smart security 9 so from now on you can upgrade to version 10 internet security

You can download and install the ESET Smart Security Premium 10, BUT you can't activate it with a seat Multi OS Licence because ESET is marketing it as a complete new product. Nothing else to do is to install the EIS v10 and activate that release as part of your Multi OS licence! There is a solution to this issue but that wil cost you some extra $ for the upgrade.

Of course you can't use Smart Security Premium with a Multi Device License Key, but you can install "Smart Security 10 (non-Premium)" from here (Dutch version is available):

Thanks for the directions and yes, I did read that post and checked the link. On the ESET (Dutch) website I found later today that ESET SS did not get an updated v10, but its now the ESET Internet Security v10 which also can be activated with the ESS v9 (Multi OS) license.

Man wat zeur je toch? Het is heel simpel sinds versie 10 moet je dus nu internet security hebben en is de smart eigenlijk een nieuwe versie die ook duurder is als smart security versie 9.

 

Dus niet mee zeuren als een verongelijkt kind en gewoon versie 10 internet security installeren.

1. ESET Smart Security Premium v10 is a 'new product' with the PassWord Manager (new) + Webcam Security (new) + Secure Data (new) + Network Security (new) module:

 

             NOTE: You can't upgrade to ESET Smart Security Premium v10 using your existing ESET Smart Security v9 (multi OS) license for 1/3/5 seats.

 

2. ESET Smart Security v9 has been replaced for upgrades to the new name ESET Internet Security v10 with PassWord Manager + Anti-Theft  + Secure Data + Webcam Security (new) + Network Security (new) module:

1. I have a 5 seat ESET Multi OS (OSX & Win) licence <2019/10 that can not be upgraded to the ESET SS Premium 10, because the ESS Premium is NOT the successor for ESET SS v9;

 

2. The successor for ESS v9 is the ESET INTERNET SECURITY v10 (10.0.359.1) (?) so that's what I installed now;

 

 

In my opinion you should have the possibility to install "Eset Smart Security 10" (without Premium), which is still available for existing customers.

 

There is NO "Eset Smart Security 10" (without Premium). ESET changed the ESET Smart Security v9 productname to ESET Internet Security 10. I find this very confusing...
