    Hi planet,

Thank you much for your prompt reply and directions! I'll give that a spin tomorrow on my OSX Yosemite 10.10 test SSD! I like it to be able to try before I 'buy'! ;)

    Cheers

    Hi planet,

One more thing, how do I manage my current settings if I remove v5 and clean install v6? Thanks again for your directions

    Cheers

    Hi BDMSTUDIOS,

ESET provides a great Knowledge Base article about exporting your settings into a file (to then import): "How can I import or export my ESET Cyber Security or Cyber Security Pro configuration settings using an .xml file?"

Personally I found that trying to do this with a major version difference caused some issues in the long run, but you can give it a go anyway.  :)

    Hi planet,

Thanks again for your quick reply and directions, I'll give it a try!

    Cheers

Just received this pop-up. No clue what this means, computer is a strange numbered sort of mac-adress.

From your previous posts I'm assuming you're using version 5 on Yosemite - since that version of ECSP is unsupported on OS X Yosemite you are going to continue having unusual things like this happening (since version 5 has no idea of the new configurations, settings, features, protocols, etc). I suggest uninstalling version 5 and installing with version 6.0.14 which has full compatibility with Yosemite.

  5. Hello,

I'm experiencing random freezes and crashes by esets_daemon when using my Mac running Yosemite.

So far it has frozen my mac and crashed when:

    • Trying to edit Firewall Rules
    • Starting up my Mac (as soon as loading is complete)
    • Browsing the Internet (clicked on a webpage link)

When esets_daemon freezes, I'm unable to use my computer as it is frozen. After a while, esets_daemon crashes and then the Mac is usable again, but then protection or the GUI is no longer working due to esets_daemon not running anymore, forcing to restart the Mac.

    OMG!!!! Please ESET; not again?????

  6. Hello,

could you please provide me with the crash log?

I can check it, we maybe already have an workaround for it.

As we said it is not one issue, but more resulting in one observable behavior, which makes this quite complicated.

Thanks for your prompt reply Peter, much appreciated!

I reverted back to 5.0.115.0 a while ago. I'll check my incremental back-ups for .crash logs in 10.9.2 (12C1012) with ECS Pro v6.

    ~ Cheers

  7. Hi @peter randziak,

These issues were initially reported +/- 21 March. Today it's 2 MONTHS later and there is still no bug fixes update for this? This can't be true..... Could you please provide a timeframe from within we customers can expect that ESET wil FIX this issue for all users by simply updating their ESET CS Pro? Did the recent OS X update to 10.9.3 (13D65) resolve any of these terrible crashes?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Reverted back from ECS Pro 6.0.9.1 -> so very buggy and having a very bad firewall (interactive) mode! Programs were not added/listed correctly.

    i.e. for COD4

    I use ECS Pro 5.0.115

ALWAYS in Interactive Mode. No problems connecting individual games / steam.

    Mac Pro 3.1 / OS X 10.9.2 (13C1021)

  9. Hi all,

    MP 3.1 OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 (13C1021) after security update 2014-002 1.0

Reverted back to ECS Pro 5.0.115.0 and no more panic crash/hang/spin etc issues.

I hope ESET will release an update/bug fix soon to solve this issue and the FireWall Interactive Mode bug in v6!

    Regards
