Just received this pop-up. No clue what this means, computer is a strange numbered sort of mac-adress.
From your previous posts I'm assuming you're using version 5 on Yosemite - since that version of ECSP is unsupported on OS X Yosemite you are going to continue having unusual things like this happening (since version 5 has no idea of the new configurations, settings, features, protocols, etc). I suggest uninstalling version 5 and installing with version 6.0.14 which has full compatibility with Yosemite.
Hi planet,
One more thing, how do I manage my current settings if I remove v5 and clean install v6? Thanks again for your directions
Cheers

Hi planet,
Thank you much for your prompt reply and directions! I'll give that a spin tomorrow on my OSX Yosemite 10.10 test SSD! I like it to be able to try before I 'buy'!

Hi,
Did some testing on my clean installed OSX Yosemite 10.10.0 on SSD in bay#2 SATA-II and STILL running ESET CSP 5.0.115.0
Just to be excact about 'slower' or 'faster'
1. Closed all programs:
2. Checked cpu usage for running processes:
Shutdown time: 21s
Startup times:
Chime -> Apple Logo = 7,8s
Apple Logo -> Desktop all startup items fully loaded including ECSP = 25s
Total = 33s
What are your results for ECSP v5 and or v6?
Mac Specs: MP 5.1 (2012) DODECA @ 2.66 Ghz | 24GB @1333Mhz | 500 GB 840 EVO in bays #1 + #2 | 500GB 840 EVO's RAID0 @ DUO X2 | WD RED 4TB RAID0 | 8800-GT (MAC) + GTX-670 FTW 4GB (PC)

Hello,
I'm experiencing random freezes and crashes by esets_daemon when using my Mac running Yosemite.
So far it has frozen my mac and crashed when:
- Trying to edit Firewall Rules
- Starting up my Mac (as soon as loading is complete)
- Browsing the Internet (clicked on a webpage link)
When esets_daemon freezes, I'm unable to use my computer as it is frozen. After a while, esets_daemon crashes and then the Mac is usable again, but then protection or the GUI is no longer working due to esets_daemon not running anymore, forcing to restart the Mac.
OMG!!!! Please ESET; not again?????

Hi all,
I'm still on version 5.0.115.0 Mac Pro 5.1 (2012) running OSX Mavericks 10.9.5. How are you reviewing the latest version 6.0.14?. Have noticed topics about CPU usage and slow shutdown. Are all recent issues ,firewall entries & crashes fixed in the new version? Thanks in advance for your input! Cheers

What if you login with your Facebook account to this forum, LAZY as I am?

Are you all updated to 10.9.3 (13D65) when reporting the same issues?
-
Hello,
could you please provide me with the crash log?
I can check it, we maybe already have an workaround for it.
As we said it is not one issue, but more resulting in one observable behavior, which makes this quite complicated.
Thanks for your prompt reply Peter, much appreciated!
I reverted back to 5.0.115.0 a while ago. I'll check my incremental back-ups for .crash logs in 10.9.2 (12C1012) with ECS Pro v6.

Hi @peter randziak,
These issues were initially reported +/- 21 March. Today it's 2 MONTHS later and there is still no bug fixes update for this? This can't be true..... Could you please provide a timeframe from within we customers can expect that ESET wil FIX this issue for all users by simply updating their ESET CS Pro? Did the recent OS X update to 10.9.3 (13D65) resolve any of these terrible crashes?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Peter!

Any news on the upcoming bug fixes release for v6?
-
We are working on a new service build that should address all issues known to date.
Please try increasing the spinlock timeout by running "sudo nvram slto_us=0xffffffff" and restart OS X for the change to take effect.
Thanks for your reply. I presume that this fix is for ECS Pro v6 only? I reverted to v5.0.115.

Thanks planet, GREAT find....

Reverted back from ECS Pro 6.0.9.1 -> so very buggy and having a very bad firewall (interactive) mode! Programs were not added/listed correctly.
i.e. for COD4
I use ECS Pro 5.0.115
ALWAYS in Interactive Mode. No problems connecting individual games / steam.
1st action
2nd action
Done. Up-and-running steam!

Hi all,
MP 3.1 OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 (13C1021) after security update 2014-002 1.0
Reverted back to ECS Pro 5.0.115.0 and no more panic crash/hang/spin etc issues.
I hope ESET will release an update/bug fix soon to solve this issue and the FireWall Interactive Mode bug in v6!
