Just had my fifth Kernel Panic, this time the usual esets_proxy. Was playing music in iTunes, browsing a website in Safari with just text.
Reading the panic file; "NMIPI for spinlock acquisition timeout".

Just had my fourth kernel panic related to ESET minutes ago. Updated to 10.9.3 less than twelve hours ago, was watching a video with Adobe Flash Player 13.0.0.214 in Safari 7.0.3 when panic occurred. This time it was caused by esets_daemon.

After further testing we found that we needed to use syslog_facility=none not syslog_class=none to disable all ESET logging to the system.log file.
Once completed restart your computer and check to ensure no more ESET log entries are showing up in the system.log file.

Just discovered this now - instead of viewing the rules via Preferences, just click "Configure Rules and Zones..." within the Main Window > Setup > Firewall. Then you have a resizable, flexible window.

Please inform us if this works to filter all the esets entries in your system.log.
Just wanted to say that I tried this out, adjusted the folder path for the Pro version, and restarted - but still getting these entries in system.log...

There were no errors when executing the two commands (after fixing the path for pro). Mac OS X 10.9.2; CyberSecurity Pro 6.0.9.1

A quick update - trying Parental Controls again, I noticed "Web access protection" wasn't working again, so I quit the process in Activity Monitor, tried setting categories again and this time it behaved differently.
If no categories are selected, "All Categories" are shown under "Category:" in the blocked message.
The interesting thing is that if I select one or more except the "Not Resolved" category, every single website is then blocked anyway and "Not Resolved" is shown under "Category:" in the blocked message. Apparently showing "Not Resolved" means that "an error occurs when connecting to the database engine".

I'm afraid it's a BUG! Re-installed V5 and up-and-running again in FW interactive mode. B)
The good news is that ESET has found the issue and also a fix for it, so this issue will be solved once they release it.
As for the Kernel Panics, it's better to focus on this other thread which affects both Cyber Security and Cyber Security Pro.

I have a feeling that users who experience the panics are unaware of how to see what caused it and is making this issue seem smaller than it already is.

Just found something interesting - when custom blocked websites from Parental Controls are not being blocked, the "Web access protection" no longer scans http traffic either. I found a temporary workaround to get the websites back to being blocked as well as resuming my protection to stay safe alone, which is to quit "esets_proxy" via Activity Monitor.
Categories are still not working, however.

As for the kernel panics related to esets_proxy, we assume it occurs if there's another application like a network monitor or 3rd party proxy server installed. We've seen the issue also reported by a user who had no ESET's product installed. We assume that the kernel panic might be triggered by a bug in OS X, hence we're going to contact Apple on this matter.
Just wanted to note that anything like a network monitor or proxy server was never installed on this Mac and the two kernel panics only occurred after installing Version 6, I've never had a kernel panic ever beforehand. I'm happy to hear that progress is being made however and I do hope the cause or solution is found soon. Thank you for the update!

Is it just https websites that are not blocked or http websites are not blocked either?
Both https and http websites are not being blocked. If I uncheck the 'Search Engines' category, Bing with http still loads. If I set bing in the custom blocked websites section myself and try again, it is blocked instantly no matter the setting. Sites with https doesn't work for custom blocked websites altogether.

I'm having an issue with Parental Control where no matter what categories I check for a user account, nothing is blocked (eg. don't allow search engines, let's Google and Bing load). If I set my own blocked websites... ESET manages to block it sometimes but other times just lets Safari load it anyway.
I've tried reinstalling Cyber Security Pro and restarting the computer after making changes, but it's still not working.
Cyber Security Pro 6.0.9.1, OS X 10.9.2, latest MacBook Pro 15-inch Retina. Using Thunderbolt Ethernet.
EDIT: I just realised there's another topic with the same issue after I posted this one... there's no solution there but I should've just replied to it. My apologies.

Who knows how many people around the world have been having this issue and don't make a mention of it. Because they're not computer savvy enough to know what's going on. Imagine the masses of people taking their Macs to genius bars, or technicians for unneeded repairs [...] This whole kernel panic issue smells like a BUG!
I'm noticing on the Apple Support Communities and other websites that other users are also having Kernel Panics with esets_proxy & esets_daemon... with this amount of people having the same issue it seems like it's a real issue for almost anyone.

Edit; had my second Kernel Panic moments ago by esets_proxy. I was just browsing the web on Safari, no other applications installed.

So far from the replies, I should mention that I've never had another kernel panic again, it was only once. At the time it was a reformatted brand new Mavericks install, with only the Adobe applications installed along with the default Mavericks applications. It was impossible for me to have issues from upgrading from version 5, as it never 'existed' due to the fresh install. I've also never had to clean any threats either, so that wasn't the cause either.

I would advise you export your configuration, and then uninstall the current version, reboot and reinstall
you may want to test before importing your configuration (or just start again)
Thanks for the suggestion however this was on a brand new install of OS X - I reformatted and reinstalled Mavericks and then installed V6 straight after. I then just started adding the rules from scratch again.

After a new install of Mavericks (reformat, reinstall) on a Late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina, I noticed Version 6 of Cyber Security Pro was released. I downloaded and installed it fine, however I use the Firewall in interactive mode and I am noticing the difficulty in creating rules all of a sudden that I didn't have issues with Version 5. This is on OS X 10.9.2.
I've also noticed esets_proxy forced my Mac to restart unexpectedly (Kernel Panic) while browsing in Safari after about twelve hours of installing Version 6.

Update: ESET has released version 6.0.13.0 which should now prevent Kernel Panics occurring from Cyber Security and Cyber Security (Pro).

After installing version 6 of Cyber Security (but pro) on a new Mavericks install, hours later I also had my Mac restart itself with a Kernel panic but for eset_proxy. I don't ever have Kernel Panics on this Mac, so this is new to me.

Hi dbcooper, didn't even notice... I just made a topic with my ideas on here and I guess it has been pinned. I originally emailed ESET Support with the retina icon issue beforehand and was told it may be implemented in the next version (during Version 6 beta, but was told for Version 7) and now that Version 6 was released officially, I thought sharing more ideas and thoughts with other users would be better.
