Hi, Our users require administrative access since they work on development tools. How can i use hips rules to block new software installations by user? This should not affect them from running scripts,launching development tools etc.Currently we use installed app log to warn them but still we want to stop unauthorised installations.Please advice.

Hi, Created an on demand scan policy with following option If task was skipped the next run should occur Immediately, if time since last run exceeds a specified value - 200 hours Last scan date on the laptop is Dec 12. On demand scan is not starting on the laptop. How do i troubleshoot? Windows 10(1511)

Please go to User Interface-Application Statuses-Expand General tab and disable windows update.

We have seen the issue happening when we upgrade eset endpoint versions . Restarting the system will not resolve the notification.You have to reboot the system through admin console or launch eset av on user pc and click on restart the pc alert to reboot the system. We have seen this eset 6v as well.

What we have done is to create a dashboard for installed applications,list every 5000 records of data,copy paste entire web page to a excel file, delete unnecessary columns,do the same task for remaining records, create a table with application,computer name,ip and time of occurence. Now you can filter whichever softwares you need in excel.We also created pivot table for software audits.The final report is better than microsoft audit reports 😊 We had to copy paste the records since details are messed up when we export the installed softwares list to a csv file using ERA console.

Users were receiving play.google.com block notification even if they go to google home page .We added play.google.com in allowed url and it worked.

Thanks Martin. I assumed that every software listed in add or remove programs will be detected under installed applications. We were primarily depending on ESET for software audits and this is surprising.

Hi, Today i noticed that WPS Office software was not detected by ESET under installed applications list eventhough it was showing in Add or remove programs list on client machine. https://www.wps.com/en-US/office-free Uninstall Registry key - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Kingsoft Office ESET developers can take a note of it.

Are you referring to self extracting archives option?

All 200 desktops stopped connecting to the server at the same time with same Deadline exceeded error. I'm not sure if agent check in time would help. I will contact ESET support and ask for help if this repeats.

Had this same error for around 200 desktops which were upgraded to ESET 7 before a month. Restarted the server, had to wait for sometime to get proper status.

Please use only serial number with all device option and block the modem..default policy will be at the bottom

When you see permissions error while uninstalling agent,just reboot the PC and uninstall. At this stage please use ESET uninstaller from safe mode to remove all the traces,reboot to normal mode and reinstall

Hi, ESET 7 scan is utilizing 100 % disk usage on one of our user laptops.I have the procmon log with me and its size is 177 MB. Regards
