The problem is hips doesn't work at all .

He just wanted to know if it was safe to run the preview without HIPS. If not, it's best to remove NOD and hope Defender does the job.

Updates are regular but just keeps spinning. 100% cpu free. Doesn't use any sources.

Hi, Since yesterday updates is in a tailspin. It updates the right signature each day but keeps searching endlessly for updates.

I just wanted to add that UXTHEME.DLL patchers are not as reliable as with XP and Win 7. This theme patcher works with the memory and doesn't modify the .dll files. for some reason when I installed paint.net on reboot screen went black. That's when I tried 2 things. First, I disabled NOD and tried again. It went OK so my guess was NOD. When you said you could not repro, I then restored the machine and removed patcher. I installed all new software, rebooted and the issue was gone. I don't know why the software installed fine when I disabled NOD. I just want you to keep this point in your files because those who use theme patchers might blame NOD if they get the same experience that I got. If you see a post that invloves black screens, first thing to ask is do you have a patcher installed? Thanks.

OK, I found the issue. It's a problem with theme patch (Uxstyle). It seems to go nuts on new installs. Removed it and all is well. Thanks.

Windows 8 X64. Can't access Safe mode with black screen had to restore system. Disabled NOD for 10 minutes install went as planned.

I installed the new paint.net 3.5.11 version with beta 7 activated. On reboot got black screen with cursor. Also had VSS access error on event viewer. I disabled NOD for 10 minutes, did install and issues are gone.

Well, I installed Beta 7 just to see, and issue is gone. I wish someone would have told me.

For crying out loud guys, 5 months and about 10 machines and no fix in site. I hope that I get a year extension on my licences

Marcos, I have a machine that is still with NOD 32. Just tried the site and it doesn't work. I have Bitdefender on main machine and it works.

Hi, My Air France boarding pass window got blocked. My government company registration gets blocked. Removed NOD, all work. Most pages that get blocked are scripts from the original page. I have supported this software for many years and must say that I have never really had any issues except for this one where i seem to feel abandoned. I even opened a ticket. I have been checking here for the past few months and all I have seen is nothing. How can you test a beta when the actual version has flaws. I hope that someone at Eset will get their act together. Well here I am 6 months later with my NOD 32 crippled and not a fix in site. What a shame
