RickFriedman 0
I just updated my ESET Smart Security from version 8 to 9 by using the "Check for update" button in version 8. The install finished but then came up with the message, "Activation failed. Invalid license key." So, I entered in the key manually (the key starts with EAV, correct?). But it still says that it is invalid. I am running Windows 7. I am not using any sort of proxy server. While this is not activated, does it mean I am not protected? I'm very unhappy. Administrators Marcos 5,231 Posted August 21, 2016 Administrators Share Posted August 21, 2016 License activation is not needed if you upgrade from an older version which has a valid username/password entered in the update setup. Please pm me your license key so that I can check your license status and to make sure that the key is correct and valid.
