Major Memory Issues on Windows 8

Hi, I hope somebody can help me as my PC is nearly rendered useless at the moment.

 

I have Eset Smart Security on my PC and it using 144.6 MB of memory all the time. So everytime I go on to the internet I get a over usage warning.

 

Does anybody have ideas. I think it is something to do with the ekrn.exe

Does ekrn.exe allocate more memory (more than 200-300 MB) over time as you browse the web and it doesn't release it when the browser closes and is not running in the task manager?
