Startup scan

Hi,

I am trialling ESET NOD32 on Vista Business 32bit

I can see no evidence that the startup scan (default settings) is actually running.

The e icon in the task bar is not animating nor is there any activity if I open the main gui on the computer scan tab. No entry appears in the logs. The only indication is that the "last run field" is updating.

How can I be sure the startup scan is actually running ?

You can only trust the information shown in scheduler. Probably no suspicious files are started with Windows which is the reason why the majority of trustworthy files is skipped from scanning.

Thank you for the reply. I notice that on the 5th screen in on the scheduler edit dialogues (for the startup tasks) the "Commonly used files" and " Scan priority" fields are blank I.e nothing selected - is this correct . I have changed them to "commonly used files" and "when idle" respectively.

Are these appropriate settings ?
