SysRescue Tuning Settings

Hi,

 

I generated a sysrescue disk. I would like to tweak it based on our corporate locations so that it can pull updates from our mirror site (e.g. is there a config file somewhere I can edit on the ISO). Is this possible please and if so, how to do this?

Not sure if it's possible, but I wouldn't use a local mirror for updating a rescue disk. The mirror may be outdated or may not contain the very latest version of the sig. database. Syscrescue should be used with the latest signature database available in order to effectively detect and clean possible malware.

Under normal circumstances I would totally agree with you. However, the situation I have is that locations we have can have limited internet connectivity as our environment is not office based and quite unique and the mirror is the only viable option to reduce the limited bandwidth and connectivity issues. If it is possible to tweak settings to pre-point to a mirror I would really appreciate any feedback please.
