Add an SSL certificate for ESET PROTECT On-Prem Appliance Web Console

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

We've just installed our new Rocky Linux ESET Protect On-Prem appliance. As expected the webconsole throws a certificate error in the browser. I would like to add a certificate so the the webconsole doesn't show a certificate error.

I have seen the two published KB articles KB7856, and KB7857, but neither relate to the appliance. Is there instructions available for the new server appliance please?

If you open the console via https, did you previously use your own certificate issued by a trusted CA with the CA certificate present in the trusted root CA cert. store?

Hi, no. The old appliance didn't have the cert either because there were no instructions for the old appliance either. To be clear, we only want to use our wildcard cert for the web console. Is there maybe a way to do it with Webmin? That would probably be the best place to do it to keep it separate from the Eset application.

If you are using a self-signed certificate generated by ESET, it's expected to get a warning like this:

Hi, yes, I know its expected, but I don't want to get the warning. We have a wildcard cert that we use on everything internally that has a web interface. For example VCentre, barracuda gateways etc. I'm asking how to add a certificate to the Web Console only, so that the error does not display.

Please follow the instructions at https://support.eset.com/en/kb7856.

Hi, as I said in the first post I have read this article which relates to the Windows installer. I have also read the one relating to Linux. I am using the ESET provide appliance.
