ESET SysRescue (Smart Security 8 )

Recommended Posts

Hi, I' trying to create a USB rescue Disk and as instructed I've installed Windows ADK Kit. It does'nt work because it absolutely want the msi files, as it doesn't allow me to use the first option, is "deactivated". I don't have theses .msi files, I installed the product with online setup option. All I have is the .exe file we download just before installation.

Anyone has a idea ???

Hello Whitehat76,

The option to use files from installed product is available only on 32-bit operating systems, since the created SysRescue disk will also be 32-bit.

You can always download the full .msi installation files from our website by choosing the offline installer (hxxp://www.eset.com/us/download/home/detail/family/5/#offline) - and again, you need to use the 32-bit file, even on a 64-bit system.

Anyway, I would recommend the new Linux-based ESET SysRescue Live, which does not need Windows AIK kit and comes as an .iso image ready to be burned to a CD/DVD, or you can download a small utility that will allow you to create a bootable USB drive as well.

You can download it from here: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN3509
