ESET NOD32 uses about 50% CPU

I have Windows XP and have recently experienced some problems with the antivirus. It seemed that egui.exe (according to task manager) is using around 50% of the CPU. Even though I upgraded to ESET NOD32 8 a couple of weeks ago, the problem still occurs. Any ideas?

Are you running any other antivirus solutions? You can run the AV Removal Tool in SOLN146 to check for/remove other AV solutions.

Do you have the latets version of EAV installed? Just in case, please let us know the version number.
