Guest Baffled
Hi, recently Eset Internet Security (16.026.0) started detecting and "cleaning" the file "browser_assistant.exe" running in RAM within 60 seconds of booting up the computer every time the computer is booted. --The "problem" is probably neutralized, but is never fixed. --I ran the deepest scan on all drives and no malware was found. --Opera is not (was never) installed. --The file "browser_assistant.exe" doesn't exist on the computer. So how can the problem that Eset is detected be resolved? Thank you! Link to comment

itman 1,627
Browser_assistant.exe is associated with the Opera browser: https://www.file.net/process/browser_assistant.exe.html . However, there are malicious versions of browserassistant.exe as noted here: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/is-browser-assistant-a-virus . Edited March 11 by itman Link to comment
