Eric Char 0 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Hi Support, We have one ESET policy to block all USB external storage and due to business needs, we plan to have certain USB drive to be allowed. Expecting only whitelisted USB drive will only able to use and detect by computer. Kindly please advise step by step on how I can perform this setup. Thanks.
Administrators Marcos 5,461 Posted October 5, 2022 Administrators Posted October 5, 2022 You can create a permissive Device Control rule for the devices you want to allow and put them over the blocking rule in the rule list.
Eric Char 0 Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 Is there step by step guiding available where I can refer ?
Administrators Marcos 5,461 Posted October 5, 2022 Administrators Posted October 5, 2022 This KB shows how to create Device Control rules: https://support.eset.com/en/kb2513 Create more rules, one blocking rule for all devices and then permissive rules for particular devices that you want to allow and put them above the blocking rule by clicking the appropriate arrow button.
Eric Char 0 Posted October 10, 2022 Author Posted October 10, 2022 Thanks so much for your guidance and it works as expected. Another side question whether we can encrypt the file when save in the whitelisted USB storage and only readable at on those computer installed with same ESET ? This is for Intellectual Property protection and avoid user copy out company data out from company.
