Good morning,

After installing the latest version of ESET Endpoint Antivirus (ver. 9.0.2046.0) at our clients, we receive an information that after this installation, files with the extension * .xls, *. Xlsx open for a long time. There was no such problem before installation. For a few users it was enough to update Micorosft Office package and Excel started up quickly, but a few users still do the same despite the update.

Did you have the same problem?

Does it happen when you open documents from a remote network share or locally? Does temporarily pausing real-time protection make a difference?

If so, please reproduce the issue with Procmon logging and then provide both the Procmon log compressed in an archive as well as logs collected with ESET Log Collector. Prior to that, temporarily disable Protected service in the HIPS setup and reboot the computer.
