Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I cannot load Amazon.com from the computer with Eset. It is the only device from which I cannot access Amazon, and so the problem must be in Eset. Amazon is also the only site that I cannot access, as far as I know. I permitted the address in URL Address Management, but I still cannot access the site. the error page says: This site can’t be reached www.amazon.com took too long to respond.
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted March 22, 2021 Administrators Posted March 22, 2021 Does temporarily disabling the firewall or protocol filtering in the advanced setup make a difference?
Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 (edited) I temporarily disabled every feature I could find, but I do not see protocol filtering. Edited March 22, 2021 by Henry42
Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 I had a similar problem with the CA firewall about 10 years ago. I had to add a rule for Amazon.
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted March 22, 2021 Administrators Posted March 22, 2021 I assume that uninstalling ESET would not help then either so ESET should not be the culprit.
Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 This is the only computer with Eset and the only computer with this problem.
Administrators Marcos 5,739 Posted March 22, 2021 Administrators Posted March 22, 2021 You can try uninstalling ESET and see if the issue goes away.
Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 Will I be able to use the same product key when reinstalling?
Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 Weird. I disabled my VPN. That fixed it. Could my VPN conflict with Eset?
Henry42 0 Posted March 22, 2021 Author Posted March 22, 2021 Even stranger, after enabling my VPN, I can still access Amazon. Disabling the VPN temporarily fixed it, at least for now.

Disabling and re-enabling the VPN caused Eset to properly create a network connection for it.
