Administrators Marcos 4,926 Posted November 27, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 27, 2020 What notification is displayed on the home screen of your ESET product?
TJJ 0
This is the ESET home page I have not clicked on the pop-up.
itman 1,630
At this stage, I would say the popup is bogus. First, the Eset GUI home screen shows no issues with Eset installation. Next is the fact the popup origin states its from eguiproxy.exe. All that program is used for is to load the Eset GUI interface shown in the posted screen shot. Check Window Security Center and validate that Eset shows as real-time and firewall protection, that both are turned on, and Windows firewall and Defender are turned off. Administrators Marcos 4,926 Posted November 27, 2020 Administrators Share Posted November 27, 2020 It's not a bogus notification, I get the same when I pause protection: Maybe some protection module took longer to start because of waiting for some system service to start and when the notification was clicked, the protection module was already started. Does the notification continually pop up? Does it happen randomly, after you start Windows or while performing a specific operation on the machine? itman 1,630
12 minutes ago, Marcos said: It's not a bogus notification, I get the same when I pause protection: Here's what happened when I repeated this: 1. First alert is from Windows Security Center. 2. Second alert is the Eset popup alert. Clicking on the Eset popup alert, opens Eset GUI showing that real-time protection is disabled. I enable it. But appears this is not enough to override Eset original protection pause status. This must be done manually via right mouse button click on Eset desktop toolbar icon and removing prior pause status. Suspect this is the source of the constant Eset popup.
