scruples 0 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Hello All, Yesterday I purchased a Macbook Pro and ESET Cyber Security. The product installed and activated without a problem and I was able to update the AV definitions as well. Shortly afterwards I received my email from ESET with my username and password. Today, I decided to change my Apple ID password as it was a less than sufficiently secure password. Upon changing the Apple ID password on the Macbook Pro, ESET Cyber Security showed an alert with a 0008 Product Activation error. I copy and pasted both the username and password from the ESET email into the activation fields with no luck. I found the following two possible solutions in this link: hxxp://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN2879 Both options failed and I remain with a now deactivated product with the same alert. I've gone through the process of sending a request for help in to ESET, but hoping this issue might be familiar to the community. I'll update this post with any updates I receive from ESET support, but any help would be greatly appreciated Kind Regards, Scruples
scruples 0 Posted May 3, 2014 Author Posted May 3, 2014 Ok, so while waiting for ESET support to responds I uninstalled ECS, reinstalled and was then able to successfully reactivate the software...go figure.
