How to get rid of PUP.option permanently?

Recommended Posts

Eset Smart Security doesn't pick up PUP.option (browser data) (only Malwarebytes does) . . . does anyone know how to permanently get rid of PUP.options?? (it slows down Chrome browser to a "crawl.")

The detection name is very generic and even MBAM explains it as: "PUP.(Optional) is a category of Malwarebytes detections that applies to potentially unwanted programs (PUPs)."

Try disabling or removing all browser extensions, then re-enable them one by one to narrow it down. If that doesn't work, consider uninstalling Chrome, deleting user profiles and installing it from scratch.
