Bassem 0
On Boxing Day (Dec. 26) I bought two NOD32 Antivirus packages from Best Buy. They are for 1 PC, 2 Years. I have used eset in the past and have never had an issue activating my licenses but when I try with these two new ones they BOTH say " Cannot activate, please contact ESET Support " Any ideas? Administrators Marcos 5,408 Posted January 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 2, 2020 I would recommend contacting ESET Canada or ESET LLC customer care.
Axl 0
Hello, I have a similar question. I have downloaded Nod32 version 9.x for an old Windows XP notebook. I've been trying for the last days to activate a free trial license but I always get an error (impossible to reach activation server, code ECP.20031). My internet conection is ok, may there be a problem with ESET server? Or eventually version 9.x is not supported anymore for upgrades and activation? Thank you. Administrators Marcos 5,408 Posted January 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 2, 2020 The ECP error 20031 means that the certificate was invalid. Couldn't it be that you have SSL communication filtered / scanned on a firewall?
Axl 0
I've tried to disable WinXP firewall and reboot, but Nod32 still can't connect to the server. Then I installed Sygate Personal Firewall because years ago I had no problem with Nod32 version 6 and Sygate, but the error remains. I've also changed different settings in "Internet options" checking and unchecking SSL TLS etc. but it's still not working. Windows XP network troubleshooting give the message " Windows can't connect to the internet using HTTP, HTTPS, or FTP. This is probably caused by firewall settings on this computer. Check the firewall settings for the HTTP port 80,HTTPS port 443 and FTP port 21." Firefox can access the internet while Internet Explorer has some problems... several Eset website pages are not accessible with IE, other give warnings about security certificate... but everything works fine with Firefox (see attached image, same link with different results)
Axl 0
I'm now running version 8 of Nod32 end everything seems ok...
itman 1,790
41 minutes ago, Axl said: I'm now running version 8 of Nod32 end everything seems ok... The problem is ver. 8 is no longer supported: https://support.eset.com/en/is-my-eset-product-supported-eset-end-of-life-policy-home-products#eav Also per the above linked Eset article, ver. 9 end-of-support date is Dec., 2019. So the question is if any Eset ver. now supports Win XP? Ver. 9 was the only Eset ver. previously that supported Win XP.
Administrators Marcos 5,408 Posted January 2, 2020 Administrators Share Posted January 2, 2020 V8 obvously cannot have issues since it didn't support activation yet. As itman wrote, v8 is not supported and we cannot guarantee further module updates.
Axl 0
Thank you for the link, I see that both versions (8 and 9) are not supported anymore... I'm on a free trial and virus definitions have just been updated correctly to current date, so I'll keep running this version as long as I get regular updates
