Policy to block memory sticks but allow SD cards

Hi all,

 

We've recently pushed out a policy that blocks removable media except a particular type of memory stick. I was just wondering if there was any way of blocking just memory sticks but allowing other removable media? Want to allow things like SD cards or file transfer with a mobile phone.

I assume that both appear in the same device group in the system Device manager. If so, it's not possible to distinguish between them.

you can block usb devices by category on windows with proper gpo.
