itman 1,629 Posted May 31, 2017 Share Posted May 31, 2017 IP address in the 169.254.0.0 - 169.254.255.255 are APIPA IPv4 local link addresses. None of these addresses are routable outside the local subnet i.e. your local network. Normally, you should never see these addresses. If one is being used, it indicates there is a issue with you acquiring a valid DHCP address from your router's DHCP server or w/o such router, your ISP.
