  1. I would like to have compatibility to this new version of Windows. I understand that it is pre-release software, but maybe delivering it through pre-release updates, like in past times? If not, how secure is my system without HIPS working and should I disable it completely in settings if it's gonna be this way? Thank you.
  2. It terms of "resources lightness", Eset has always been the champion. V7 is no different to previous versions, it is still the lightest compared to the competition. My experience with NOD32 has always been the same: Install it and forget it is even there.
  3. NOD32 v6 is working perfectly on Windows 8.1 too. I didn't even have to enable pre-release updates. I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro 64Bit (RTM)
  4. I am using Eset NOD32 v6 on Windows 8.1 X64 (RTM) and it works beautifully. Not a single glitch. You don't even have to enable pre-release updates. HIPS and everything work out of the box. Well done, Eset.
  5. Sorry Marcos, I can't provide one as I had memory dumps disabled on my system. What option should I enable, small memory dump (256KB)?
  6. It looks like I spoke too soon. Even when the HIPS modules installed fine, I got a system crash and reboot a few minutes ago. It hadn't happened with just Defender. Maybe it's the advanced memory scanner playing it unfair with Windows 8.1, but that's just me guessing. The sure thing is NOD32 is not liking Windows 8.1 so much. Note: I didn't know in which thread to post, so I posted in both, sorry.

  8. Thank you! As always, top notch support. It seems to work fine. I hope no freezes or lockups occur and everything turn out right as I'm really liking Windows 8.1 RTM.
  9. How's that if there's report of HIPS breaking and not working in win 8.1? I haven't tried it yet but there are quite a few in the forum.... not a complain either, just a question. If one is having issues with Windows 8.1 build 9600 (RTM), maybe they don't have the most current HIPS and Anti-Stealth modules installed yet or haven't restarted the system after the modules were updated. The modules adding compatibility support for Windows 8.1 RTM were released for v7 users just yesterday. Is pre-released update required?
  10. OK, then. I will be using Windows 8.1's Defender until Eset supports Windows 8.1. Avast free already supports it but I don't want to install Avast. I tried both NOD32 V7 beta and v6 and none fully work. Beta v7 even causes major system freezes and lockups.
  11. Since the HIPS module is disabled in Windows 8.1 RTM, how protected is my system? Should I be concerned in a typical user scenario? Thank you.
  12. Hips isn't working with Windows 8.1 RTM even after enabling pre-release updates. It stays "disabled" and with the red icon.
  13. Thank you for the support. We love Eset products and we tend to be a little impatient. So, in a way, thank you for understanding too.
  14. They seem to be taking too long to fix this annoying bug.
  15. The problem persists. And now it started spinning right after turning on the PC. One question, does it affect detection? Are are computers protected even with this bug?
  16. I'm using Chrome Beta (v29) with NOD32 v7.0.104 on Windows 8.1 Preview and there's no problem at all. Everything works as it should. No complains.
  17. I understand Beta on Beta. I thank Eset for the support (even when not official). In the past, support for pre-release OS has been denied. One more reasons to remain an Eset customers for more years to come.
  18. The new logo is not bad, I kinda like it better than "the eye", but it needs some polishing around the edges. Besides, the "E" is Eset trademark logo and so represents better the product.
  19. The same happened to me: v7 Beta crashed badly (BSOD) before completing the installation and I was left with a broken antivirus and no way to uninstall it. However, NOD32 v6 did work on Windows 8.1 but gave me a HIPS driver error. To solve it, you have to choose "Pre-Release Virus Signatures", re-update virus signatures and restart Windows. Hopes it works for you.
  20. It doesn't stop detection, it just stops notifications. The system remains 100% protected under Game Mode and it's all done automatically.
