  1. If only I could mark you both as the solutions, You guys are both the best Thanks! I'll have a look at it hopefully by the beginning of next week, might even add what i did here just so everyone can learn and use it too Thanks again!
  2. This answers my question. I'll probably will leave it for Sunday\Monday to actually mess with these options. But these would be enough for me to start digging in and see what fits and what issues i run into. Thanks a lot man!
  3. I was actually repeating my problem Still couldn't figure our how to create the mirror or proxy as mentioned. So i'll have to look it up. I'll try to repeat myself in more detail as I may not be too clear on what i need. I have 2 servers, on two different geographical locations. Both ISP (Internet providers) are short on bandwidth. I need a local cache folder that will have the updated definition so everyone on the LAN\Locally will get its updates from there. What do I use best and how do i implant it into the policy? Thanks
  4. Thanks @gonzalo Thanks buddy! that's my issue right there. All the local users where the ERA server is (and i use 6.3) will get the updates from that server. I'd like to make the Domain controller on the other site a mirror\proxy server for everyone to download from, and assign it in the policy. That's what i need it for. Thanks
  5. Hi everyone, I have a two sites on two separate geographical locations. One is set with ERA, while the other doesn't although there is a local DC there. I'd like to turn it into a mirror so local users can download the definition there and not download over internet (which seems to be heavy load) Also, If anyone can throw me a tip on how to set up the "proxy\mirror" in the policy i'd appreciate it. Thanks!
  6. No comment? well after a little wait out it did work out, So i assume some miscommunication with the server.
  7. Just to let you know, Eventually i used task scheduler. not the greatest solution. but i'll live with it for now.
  8. @Michal This option already exists in the current Mac Client. I'm asking to integrate that Second option "Present Application in Dock", inside the policy so Users will not have to see it pop up at the dock when they start the computer. Regards.
  9. I have three examples. Bother were Client tasks: 1. Install <wrong ESET software> on DomainController. - Domain controller would hangup and require force-reboot. - Task, keeps trying again and again, putting the domain controller into these hangups and crashes. 2. Product Activation on user computer: - Keeps running and puts other tasks in wait until it finishes. 3 List of client task some are on "planned" some are running. - Unable to determine what is actually running and what has finished. Let me know if that passes the issue at hand. Also, while we are on this topic, can you skip\shorten the "planned" period, of a task? It seems to be taking a while and yet another also, Tasks which suppose to be triggered by "ASAP" only start at about 60 seconds after starting to run them, can that be shorten to ASAP, Literally? Thanks for everything Martin..
  10. Hi everyone. i'd like to disable ESET endpoint products from starting the application with an icon on the dock. In my opinion it may bother people who like a cleaner look of their desktop and would find it easier to right click -> quit it. Can we add it to the policy? Thank you.
  11. Hi everyone, Tried to install ESET AV (newest package is 6.16) and after about 20 minutes i got the following error: "Error running installer package. Command exit code is 1; stdout: installer: Package name is ESET Endpoint Antivirus<EOL>installer: Upgrading at base path /<EOL>installer: The upgrade failed (The Installer encountered an error that caused the installati..." any idea what it could be? Thanks
  12. Hi everyone, I'd like to stop a task while it has started running. Either Server Task or Client task. Both of which get stuck, or even just because I want to force a stop on the task that is taking too long. How can that be done? Thanks
  13. It is running as service under "Local System account" by default - but it may be manually changed Could you clarify and add information regarding that manual change? That could be the solution if I can change the user to some other network user.
  14. Hi Shaik, From my past experience you may want to analyze the error. from the computer where the Remote administrator is installed do the following for every failed MAC (may sound a lot, but it's necessary just like adding remote login option) 1. ping and ping -a to the mac - failure means you need to define DNS (that's what i did and it helped) 2. ssh to the machine - just see if you get a popup for credentials. it means SSH works (I ran into an issue once where it didn't, had to reinstall openssh-server there.) 3. administrator user login. - from what i saw passing domain credentials doesn't always work, you'll need to use a local admin account. Good luck
  15. Unfortunately script is executed "asynchronously" and therefore AGENT is not collecting its output. In case you see "Task successful" in ERA it means script started, but tells you nothing about it's content results. We are aware it is not ideal but I would suggest to use some kind of "logging" in your task - at least writing to some file. Have you tried to execute mentioned bat file manually? Even Windows itself has some limitations when network shares are involved and it has problem with mixing local and network locations. I did run it, i fear i have an issue with access to network shares as you mentioned, that leads me to have a couple of questions: 1. under what credentials the agent runs 2. Can I define credentials for the clients task? (just like you have such option for server tasks) 3. Are you aware of a way to bypass entering credentials using the .BAT file? (to gain access to network shares i will need to change user to network account, probably using a command like "runas") Thank you for the help!
  16. Thanks for the quick reply, I have tried to run an .batch file from a network share, but that doesn't work. *note* i've been at this reply for the last 5 hours, trying to figure out all sorts of bypasses to this issue. I'm unable to figure out where the script fails, or what doesn't succeed to run. Is there any place I can find the log of the agent? (something more detailed than "task started, application finished running, Done") Thanks
  17. Hi Everyone, I'd like to use Run Command Task on ESET Remote Administrator 6.x to run Ninite with some parameters. How can i define the working directory which is a shared folder on the network. if you can provide some information regarding that. what kind of format do i use for working directory? What can i specify in terms of regular expressions for the command line, and adding command line parameters. Thank you.
  18. This issue has raised here as well. Is there any possible way to turn on real-time protection if the user has disabled it? On Mac clients for example, there is no time limit when you disable the protection, that's why creating a task\ policy to turn it back on, is a necessity. Thanks
  19. Any updates about that? @moderators, anyone? in case the question isn't clear, I'll rephrase here: I'd like to know How to stop "A Server Task" or "A Client Task" which I executed and is either stuck on "Task is Starting" or just stuck and is taking too long. Can i Cancel,Stop, Kill it in any way? and on a side note, Can I bypass the "Task Planned" Stage? Thanks!
  20. Turns out I forgot some Ports to be opened from the other side back. Issue was resolved due to blocked ports. Thanks Martin for the quick answer and help! That link would be quite helpful for future issues
