  1. there is no need to ask someone if a newer version has any benefit for a specific OS. since it's a new version it has fixes targeted for ALL USERS who have product installed IN EVERY OS.

as the release notes say and as myself stated, internal optimizations mean smoother operation regardless of the OS the user has.

    8.0.319.0

    •     Added: Compatibility with Microsoft Windows 10 RTM build 10240
    •     Changed: Internal product security hardening against targeted attacks
    •     Changed: End User License Agreement
    •     Changed: Latest Virus Signature Databases included directly in build
    •     Changed: Latest modules included directly in build

this is for everyone, not just windows 10 users. when a AV is updated, the updates are not targeted for specific users (except the times where compatibility is added for a new OS.)

so download the update, install it and BENEFIT the from optimizations the ESET developers worked so hard to bring us. after all you pay to have one of the top products installed, right? ;)

  2. i'm digging up this because i faced the issue again.

i tried to send a report via in-product form from SS and soon i got a failure response in my mail and the "DMARC policy" was there big and bold :D

i spoke with yahoo support and they told me that a possible cause is that the AV program is trying to mask the mail as if it was sent directly from the yahoo mail webpage, and that causes the error and it never gets sent.

    they gave me that article.

they also asked me to contact my av company so they can ask the eset email administrator of the company to contact yahoo to resolve the issue.

i also tried to send a message to eset support via the Submit a Case Online but i also got the same error. i can forward the error mails to eset stuff if you require them, i also have the transcript of the yahoo agent.

i guess only eset can look and resolve the issue.

  3. v8.0.319.0 is just an update for better windows 10 compatibility.

NO ONE is forcing you to update to windows 10 if you don't want to. this is just part of the regular updates that eset provide for it's products.

if you want to stay to the older version is your choice, but if a bug or security vulnerability is discovered in the older version and it's only fixed in a new update, you will be left unprotected.

  4. 3,4,5 are not so important as long as you are connected to the internet and the program downloads the latest definitions on it's own or if you manually press the update now button.

1, you understand that it has windows 10 support.

2, the eset team won't tell you what exactly is improved because they dont publicly announce full release changes.

from the title i think that they made the core code to work more smoothly.

all the items are beneficial because they make more creamy cappuccino!

no one can answer to you what are the benefits specifically for 32 or 64bit windows. you just update to the latest version of your AV program and you leave it as is.

  5. I never see alert from the LiveGrid...

    Example :

It is red and not alert why ? (ok it is old screenshot but it is for example) :

    hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/attachments/rogue-jpg.233515/

    Or a green rogue (lol) : hxxp://www.wilderssecurity.com/attachments/crazy-jpg.233484/

    For stream update  :

(i try to explain, i am not english), i have a sample not detected.

i send a zip protected at samples eset com.

But i must wait the next update for the detection..., with an other antivirus , without a update, he can detect because the server send sample per sample without wait for the update.

    For example :

    Dear Arnaud XXX,

    Thank you for your submission.

The detection for this threat will be included in our next signature update, expected version: 12315.

    Regards,

    ESET Malware Response Team

So there is not real cloud detection or stream update if i must wait the update 12315 for the detection.

nod32 av v6 is way too old. where did you dig up those images?

  6. @Matrix Leader as said earlier, the release is done in waves to ensure a smooth and bug free release around the world.

despite english being a global language they (ESET) are not obliged to release it first in english. sine they decided to release in those 3-4 languages, they wont change their desision last minute.

also im pretty sure the ceo has far more important things to worry about thatn speaking with dissatisfied customers, you could send a ticket to the support team and express your concerns.

also note that the translation is done by people not by computers, and this might take some time to fully translate everything in the product. would you like to have a product with some bugs not fixed in the final product? what would you do then? you would accuse the company of not fixing them.

so wait patiently for a release in your desired language, after all you have waited formore than a year, what are a few more weeks?
