imo unsafe and unwanted might be the same thing

since ask toolbar was detected upon starting the real times installer, why the exclude options weren't activated?
-
-
i wanted to import this "NoOpenCandy_FirewallAndWebProtection.xml"
i could do it manually, but i wasn't sure where in the settings to go and what to edit, because it's different from v8.
-
there is no need to call the support by phone, just do as i wrote by visiting this website hxxp://www.eset.com/int/support/contact/and do the steps i explained above.

an image of the main window would help see exactly what it says.
-
just follow the link in my previous post to start a case with the support team.
select "home user & small office support" > then "Other question or feedback (none of the above)" > then "Feedback/Other", fill in your details and describe the issue with as much detail as possible, including the images you have uploaded here.
and send it

Again today I noticed some slow down in browsing. When wanting to copy/pase my username on a website there was a huge lag. Took about 7 seconds before I could see what I pasted. Any idea why this is happening? Never happened on v8...
it could be just the web browser cluttered with the web history, have you tried to clear history, cookies etc etc?

as i said, it would be best to submit a support request so they can easily report it to the development team. a moderator's job is not to send bugs to the devs, but they do it some times out of their good will.

installing 32 bit apps on a 64bit OS is possible. it's just a double click away

do a system restore to restore the pc to a working state before v9 was installed
hxxp://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4588-system-restore-windows-10-a.html
-
it would be better to report it directly to support so they can easily froward it to the dev team.
-
oh now i understand. i suggest you contact customer support and report the issue there, also give them the link to the this forum thread so they can see the issue.
-
i'm confused. on image #1 the icon is huge as hell, is that the normal resolution you see with naked eye?
also is that photographed with the camera at a distance of 50+cm?
-
as said earlier, it will soon.
-
how close did you put the camera to take the photo?
-
i have said many times here, and you refuse to understand it.
it's not just for windows 10 users. since you won't upgrade to win 10, DON'T AND NO ONE WILL NEVER FORCE YOU.
see my previous posts here in the thread on what i have in bold letters. CODE OPTIMIZATION. this is not necessarily for windows 10 but for everyone that uses the program regardless of the OS.
and stop asking everyone if program X form company Z will benefit a certain laptop. this is not how stuff works.
read again the release notes.
8.0.319.0
- Added: Compatibility with Microsoft Windows 10 RTM build 10240
- Changed: Internal product security hardening against targeted attacks
- Changed: End User License Agreement
- Changed: Latest Virus Signature Databases included directly in build
- Changed: Latest modules included directly in build
so, stay with the current version you have. end of discussion.
plus, eset some times don't release the new updates via the program itself. instead they release full packages available on the website only.
that's why if you press the "update now" you won't get and prompt to download the new version.
-
you have everything messed up inside your head..
v9 is the new version that has been in development for a year now.
it's the next generation of eset products.
of course it will replace the previous version and of course it will have support for windows xp up until windows 10.
if someone has windows 10, he/she can stick with v8.xxx. nobody will force him to update to v9.
so, stick with v8, or download v9, or do whatever you like. we can't force you to do anything
-
check the page, provide your old username & password and convert them to a valid license that can be used after a reinstall.
-
I dont like programs sniffing around my system live even if its for protecting the system.
then you could remove the AV and disable every security and protection feature of the OS. that way you won't worry about programs meant to protect you if they sniff around
-
since i didnt see any error by doing the same procedure, i would suggest to go to the control panel, uninstall a program, find the eset entry and double click it.
then select to repair the installation.
after that reboot the pc. and check if it persists.

i tried to import the xml file in SS v9 but i encountered an error. i guess the imporing mechanism has changed from the previous versions.
where can i go and enter the values by hand?
-
i would like a clarification.
- New program updates called micro PCUs
if eset wants to update a graphical component, or text section in the GUI, they will just release a small file that will update the relevant components instead of releasing a huge file that will require the user to reinstall the program?
is it like the modules update system in v8?
detection floater - disabled options

yeah, after i clicked ignore it opened again with all the options available.
btw i think all the options should be available regardless on where the detection was occurred.
the 'exclude signature' mean the file's unique signature or the virus signature?
