  1. From the Free Trial FAQs on the 30 Day Free Trial download page, the Free Trial is only good for one machine.

The US website-https://www.eset.com/us/home/free-trial/ scroll down to the FAQ

It will say the same on your regional website.

'How many devices can I protect with the free trial?'

'Each ESET product free trial covers one device only. You can protect additional devices by purchasing the full version of the product.'

  2. @Prash Well the reason why you did not have it, and why I did not have it, is because we both unchecked "Enable ESET LiveGrid feedback system" during the install. You need to have that 'enabled' under 'Cloud-Based Protection' in Advanced Setup. I have always unchecked that during install and then I always check the 'Enable' on the bottom PUA Detection choice.

  3. @AMbit There should have been 4 'Advance Options' in the lower left of the detection popup, they might have been 'collapsed' and you had to 'expand' them to see them. 'Copy to Quarantine' is one of them, so whats in your Quarantine is probably just copies, as its checked by default, along with 'Submit for Analysis'.

Restore everything and re-run the scan, and check for that.

See page 44 for the pop up shown in a Real-time detection with the Advanced Options expanded, yours was probably similar.

  4. @heyyahblah Here is the thread from July that I read and then commented in about this problem, and then after reading the comment by @itman about in program Version upgrades (ie V11 to V12) possibly being a problem, I just did a clean install, then went thru and reconfigured everything how I wanted it.  It's good to do that once in awhile, you relearn your software. It's also good to save the old version installers some wheres since ESET does not.

How would I lose the Notifications menu and only have it show email notifications.

I had the same problem as you, and I think it got borked during an in program version upgrade.

So I'm gonna guess you did an in program version upgrade.

I never noticed it until I was reading a post about someones problem with 'Desktop Notifications', and when I looked at my setup trying to find 'Desktop Notifications' it wasn't there, just 'Email notifications' just like yours.

Fix-Do a clean install and all was good again.

  6. @Marcos Same Config module as yours, and yes I did reboot after upgrading. You'll also notice I have 2 things modified in 'Email notifications' from the default settings, and those 2 things are not in the Email section? They are probably in the 'Basic' or 'Desktop Notification' sections, which are now missing. I'm pretty sure I turned off the 'Successful Update Notification' and out of nowhere about 2 months ago I started to get the 'Security Report' notification on the 1st of every month, but I never looked into why did that start happening.  I'm not too worried about it, in 6 months this license is up and this Win 7 OS goes down the toilet.

Is this a glitch or something, had anyone's ESET disppeared from their system tray icon at some point?

It happens all the time to me at boot.

The small blue ESET box appears on the screen, the icon is in the tool bar, then in a flash the UI Icon disappears and goes 'inactive'. Windows states "This notification Icon has become inactive" " It will be shown the next time it becomes active".

I just reboot because I want it there, only once did I have to reboot twice to get it to stay active.

The other thing you can do is find egui.exe in the ESET file in Program Files and run it.

    C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Security\egui.exe

That path is for Win 7, don't know about Win 8 or 10.

  8. Actually the easiest solution was to just Bookmark the page in ESETs Protected Browser opened from its shortcut.

In fact I'm just going to Bookmark all my financial websites in the Protected Browser so the BPPRedirector does not have to be used from within the regular browser.

Doing it this way also allows you also to remove those bookmarks from your regular browsers bookmarks freeing up space on that toolbar.

Note: Entering the above LL Bean URL yields the following which indicates to me not all is as it should be:

That's because your link is messed up, see below., and if you copied COStark26's link, that's where it came from.

I'm entering http here and this Thread changes it to - hxxp - WHY?

This Forum converted 'http' links entered in it to 'hxxp', that's why its not working properly from within the forum.

Many forums and websites act this way so nobody can accidentally click on a possible malware link from an unsecured address, and most Forums ask that you change links you enter to 'hxxp'.

PLUS on top of that COStark26 spelt 'mastercard' wrong in his link, he left the 'r' out, and when you hover over it, it goes to a totally different address.

And itman's link is the same, though spelt correctly in the inserted link, when you hover over it, it gives the same wrong address where the 'car' is not included in 'card' and takes you to a subdomain of that link.

I upgraded to EIS 11.2.63.0, did not help.

For now I'll just copy and paste in the Protected browser opened up by the BPP shortcut.

But I think somebody should forward this 'quirk' to Slovakia.

    Thanks to everyone.

The OP is referring to saving the Citibank address ( citiretailservices.citibankonline.com/RSnextgen/svc/launch/index.action?siteId=PLCN_LLBEAN#signon) in Advanced setup -> Banking & Payment protection -> Protected websites

    Exactly

If I copy & paste the url into a secure browser, it's pasted the same way it appears in a standard browser:

That's how the US Customer Support 'solved' the problem, that's not what I am referring to.

and it's actually an 'OK', not a 'Save'

  11. Here is my problem. I'm trying to add the address for LL Bean Mastercards to ESETs Banking & Payment Protection Protected website section.
LL Bean's Mastercard web address is hxxp://www.llbeanmastercard.com/ which defaults to a secure Citibank address:
    https://citiretailservices.citibankonline.com/RSnextgen/svc/launch/index.action?siteId=PLCN_LLBEAN#signon
When I enter the above address into the Protected website section of BPP and Save it, ESET changes all the capital letters to small
letters and deletes the #signon off the end leaving, 'citiretailservices.citibankonline.com/rsnextgen/svc/launch/index.action?siteId=plcn_llbean' and that does not work.
I noticed all the websites listed in the Protected website section have www. on them and I tried adding that in every possible configuration and nothing works.
ESET leaves the www. but still changes all the capital letters to small letters and deletes the #signon off the end. And that does not work. I've also added hxxp://www.llbeanmastercard.com/ and that does not help. Adding the 's' to this address as https://www.llbeanmastercard.com/ and that does not help and every browser I try says 'The owner of www.llbeanmastercard.com has configured their website improperly'. I contacted ESET's US Technical Support and they were no help, they couldn't understand what I just wrote above.
Their answer was "Oh it works, open BPP with its shortcut and copy & paste that address into the browser". And that's when I gave up with them.
Yeah I know it works that way, but that's not what I am trying to do and that's not what I just explained above.
So if a Mod can forward this or check it out I would appreciate it greatly.
    Thank You
    ESET IS 11.2.49.0, Win 7 SP1, Firefox 62.0

  12. Yes it is happening for me also, running Firefox 62.0, Win 7 SP1, and Eset IS 11.2.49.0

What I've noticed is every Consumer Reports address that has a "/cro" in it, does it,  and all of these do it for me:

    https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/about-us/what-we-do/index.htm

    https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/modal-login/index.htm

    https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/magazine/index.htm

    https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2014/06/date-of-report/index.htm

    https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/a-to-z-index/cars/index.htm

But this other login address does not do it:

    https://secure.consumerreports.org/ec/login
