If you want to disable ThreatSense.Net, you can accomplish it via a policy.
-
Please provide step-by-step instructions how to reproduce the issue. Nobody has reported issues with Adobe Flash Player and we haven't observed such issues either.
-
I'm not sure if you can drop me a PM as an unregistered user. To send me a PM, click my nick and then click the button "Send me a message". However, I'd suggest that you try enabling pre-release updates in v6 and downloading the latest modules to see if they resolve the issue or not. V7 beta users have pre-release and release updates same.
-
It's been already explained, the recent updates of the module contained changes for v4-based server products.
-
Yes, it's a known issue that we've been able to reproduce.
-
Does the problem persist after enabling pre-release updates in the advanced update setup and downloading the latest modules? Excluding email clients from filtering is not recommended as emails downloaded by unsupported email clients will not be scanned for threats.
-
If they are not mobile clients, they should update from a local mirror. In such case, all you need to do is to update the license file in ESET Remote Administrator and replace the username and password for update in the ERAS Update setup if you received a new U/P.
-
The website mentioned will be unblocked as it no longer contains malware. As for OpenDNS, couldn't it be that the firewall detects DNS cache poisoning?
-
Yes, Smart optimization is enabled by default except the In-depth scan profile.
-
The issue will be fixed in the Internet protection module 1067 which will be released on pre-release update servers soon.
-
Please refer to the KB article How do I uninstall or reinstall ESET Cybersecurity for Mac?
-
What's the link to the VirusTotal scan results?
-
Could you please post the appropriate record from your Detected threats log here so that we know the location the threat was detected in as well as the action taken?
-
There's no need to improve it as it's only a very basic module. Even the latest updates contained changes aimed at v4 server versions.
-
What exact build of v6 do you have installed? You mentioned that you have WIn7 and Win8 installed on the same pc. Do you mean you installed them on virtual machines or you replaced Windows 7 with Windows 8 or vice-versa?
-
What operating system do you use? Do you get this message even if you run a scan as an administrator?
-
Virus signature database 8481 is already on the update servers. 8480 was skipped, all signatures from this version are included in 8481.

If ekrn is crashing, enable generation of complete application dumps in the ESS advanced setup (Tools -> Diagnostics). When ekrn crashes, upload the dump to a safe location and PM me the download link. The path to the dump file is shown in the previously mentioned setup pane.
-
same here. eset ss6 eats up 50% cpu on win7 64bit
Please carry on as advised above. With Windows 7, you can simply right-click egui.exe in the Task manager and select Create dump file.

Probably there's a problem receiving DNS responses to DNS queries. Try changing the DNS server to Google's 8.8.8.8 and see if that makes a difference. For instructions where to change DNS settings, read this article.
I am having this exact same problem. It is not that the host name fails to resolve in DNS. Parental controls are blocking the sites under teh category "not resolved" Sites that are blocked include mapquest.com, verizonwireless.com, imdb.com, etc If I allow the "not Resolved" category under parental controls, I can get to all sites, including some that should be blocked under other categories, such as "adult".
I contacted customer support and was told that i would need to uninstall and reinstall the software. I have done this and I am getting the same result with parental controls.
I can't reproduce this. Please create a Wireshark log while reproducing the issue, upload it to a safe location and PM me the download link. I'm interested in seeing the response received from ESET's DNS servers when attempting to access those websites.

The currently available version on update servers is 8479. As soon as a newer version is available, users will download it.
-
This should be solved by adding the IP address to the list of addresses excluded from active protection in the zone setup.
-
Exactly, ESET doesn't flag anything from Uniblue as a threat.
-
Please upload one of the dumps in the Diagnostics folder to a safe location (access to ESET's ftp server can be provided, if needed) and PM me the download link. Until the cause of the crashes is solved, uninstall v7.
