Super_Spartan 56
are you installing it from an Administrator account? Is there any current AV installed? If there was a previous AV installed, did you ensure to use its own removal tool to fully get rid of all its file/registry remnants?

jimwillsher 65
Do you have SP1 installed for the server? SQL 2014 has SP1 as a minimum requirement. And although you are using the administrator account, did you right-click, run-as when you ran the installer? Jim

jimwillsher 65
What happens if you manually install SQL Express 2014, from the path name shown in your error message. Does it install successfully? Jim

jimwillsher 65
ok, so I'd suggest you manually install .Net 4, then manually install SQL, and if that works, install ESET. Do you perhaps have a GPO and WSuS on premises? If you do, then you need to set a GPO setting to tell Windows to get program features from the internet instead of WSuS.
