I have had 3 occasions where ESET Smart Security found a PUP and popped up a window for me to acknowledge. I don't want to be stuck at my PC for 4 hours waiting for the backup to finish. But if your program does a popup, the restore stops until I come in and take action. I looked in tools and setup and don't see anything, but there's a lot there.
