User Access Rights in ESET Remote Administrator

Recommended Posts

We currently have about 15 customers on our ESET Console, each customer in their own static group. We've added licenses to the console and each customer has a unique license for each product they want. We've gone and created client tasks for each customer for remote installation purposes.

Some of our customers were on AVG CloudCare before and had access to the AVG console so they can view and manage their site machines. However, when we add users and set permission sets there doesn't seem to be a way to give them some level of "admin" or write access to most of the functionality without exposing tasks and policies created for other customers. The only Functionality that seems to allow access to only a single static group is "Reports & Dashboard"

Anyone know of a way to do this?

This is a known limitation of the existing ERA 6 version. We are working on a new security access model for ERA 6.5, which will ensure complete data isolation and would allow you to grant access to your customers without letting them see the objects (tasks, reports, policies) of others. 6.5 is scheduled to be ready in December.

Thanks for the response. Looking forward to the release.

Basically, the entire idea of ERA 6.5 release, is focused on support for multi-tenant usage of ESET Remote Administrator.

We will bring the new security model, allowing data isolation + we will work hard on further database performance optimizations / performance increase, which will make ERA 6 well suitable for the use-cases described above (one ERA used to host multiple customer entities). Other functionality tailored for this, is planned as well, including for example management of installer packages (new deployment option, that will be added to ERA 6.4 and others).

Concerning the AVG Cloud Care, were those customers also using the subscription licensing model (monthly billing). Is the customer actively using ESET MSP Program? If yes, there are a lot of improvements planned for MSP Administrator as well, however with a slightly different time-frame.
