If you have installed ESET Security Server without a firewall, does setting "Limit incoming RDP connections" to "All networks" make a difference? If so, we strongly recommend to set up trusted networks properly and change this setting back to "Trusted zone" or at least to "Local addresses" or subnets:

We are having the same issue. We do not have/see the Limit incoming setting.

Do you have ESET Server Security with the firewall? What version do you have installed?

Please carry on as follows:

  1. Enable advanced logging under Help and support -> Technical support
  2. Reproduce the issue
  3. Stop logging
  4. Collect logs with ESET Log Collector and upload the generated archive here.

We can close this I figured it out--RDP was being blocked-unblocked connections.

According to the logs you have HIPS and all HIPS-based features, such as Self-defense, Ransomware protection, Deep Behavior Inspection and Exploit Blocker disabled. This substantially deteriorates server protection. Also we recommend to reduce performance exclusions and use them only as a last resort to resolve actual performance issues. For backup we recommend excluding the process that performs the backup. Re-enabling the "Automatic startup file check after update" would allow for discovering possible malware running in memory as soon as a detection has been added without waiting for the next system reboot.
