Is there a function to block a program from modifying a file?

Hello, I want to know if there is a way to block an application to modify files like photos or videos like Avast does, I was looking for it but I don't find. If there is not something like that, it would be nice to make a security like this. Thank you.

You can create a blocking HIPS rule for file operations, for any source application, for the desired target files or folders and for the "write to file" operation selected.

Sorry to bother you, I have one more question, if I want a better protection, in HIPS, should I use Automatic filter or Smart? Thank you.

Currently there's basically very little difference between automatic and smart mode. This may change in the future, however. If you are ok with being prompted for an action upon detection of certain suspicious operations, choose Smart mode. Otherwise leave automatic mode selected.
