How long should a typical computer scan take to complete?

How long should a typical full computer scan take to complete ?

The last scan I started was going for 10 and half hours before I stopped it, and I don't believe it was anywhere near done.

That just seems to be an excessive amount of time, and not the first time it's happened.

Did you run an in-depth or smart scan? If you want to perform a quicker scan, turn off scanning of archives and sfx archives.
