Scan stops or pauses when screensaver or MAC login screen begins

Hi,

It seems that every time I start a scan, the scan pauses when either the MAC login screen or a screensaver activates.  If I start a scan at bedtime, when I get up in the morning it looks like the scan hasn't been active during this time.

Is there a way around this?

macOS Big Sur version 11.5.2

ESET Cyber Security Pro 6.10.460.1
