User 13
My new router Fritz!Box 7490 is partially blocked by ESS 7.0.317 firewall: hxxp://www.fritzbox.eu/en/products/FRITZBox_7490/index.php?tab=1 While DSL and internet is working fine, the Mediaserver of the Box is blocked by ESS firewall. This means for example: my TV, which is connected via WLAN to the Fritz!Box can't connect with my PC's media streaming unless ESS firewall is completly deactivated. On the other hand my PC can't connect to the Mediaserver part of the Box until ESS firewall is completly deactivated and in Windows 7 under "network" some multimedia devices of the router are not found with activated firewall. So what to do?
User 13
So now I am a little step further. In ESET firewall settings I activated "UPnP in Trusted Zone". Now all devices under "network" are found in Windows 7, and my TV finds the PC and there the accessible videos, images etc. But then the firewall blocks access to videos, images etc. and my TV crashes when I click "play". So what is a solution to this problem? Edited July 4, 2014 by User
ESET Moderators Peter Randziak 1,160 Posted July 4, 2014 ESET Moderators Share Posted July 4, 2014 Hello, as a first step I would try Learning mode of the personal firewall.
User 13
I activated Interactive mode and when I tried to acces the mediaserver and files, I made 5 permanent rules when the firewall messages popped up. So it seems to work for now. Edited July 4, 2014 by User
