Question about http/https Secure Browsing in Connection with DNS...

Recommended Posts

Hello,

do you know something about "DNS Secure Services?

Like DNS Watch from Watchguard or  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norton_ConnectSafe ?

The idea of it is:   Port 53 outgoing of whole organisation / local office of the customer   goes completly over designated DNS Servers.

These DNS Servers have more Security...

Do you think that is something "new"  and has ESET a Similar approach?

I am just loking for some information and the right technical name of it

Best Regards

I don't believe that ESET do offer DNS Services but you could take a look at OpenDNS which operated by Cisco

https://www.opendns.com/ , there are also few other DNS services that offer security/privacy or protection against malicious links.

This is just a replacement for using your existing ISP DNS servers. More public DNS servers are given in this article: https://www.lifewire.com/free-and-public-dns-servers-2626062 .

Eset's default firewall DNS rules will connect with whatever public DNS servers you specify for your existing Windows network adapter connection. As such, nothing additional needs to be added to existing Eset software.
