Update in new VA Appliance

Recommended Posts

I have done successfully upgrade ESET VA Appliance 6.5 -> ESMC 7 via deployed new appliance and pull database. When I log in new appliance I see there is update available:

When I click update, a new task Update product is created :

But nothing happened after 20 minutes, still "execution is planned"...

Are newest vhd images of appliance not updated? Why?

Could you please verify on which client is this task scheduled? I think it is planed on old "appliance", which will actually never connect. It this is the case, I would recommend to manually remove entry for all appliance in console.

Yes its targeted against old VA name, but I have alias in DNS old_name -> new_name. Where I rename appliance in web management after pull database?

Not sure we understand each other, but after pulling database, in WebConsole you will see two clients reporting as ESMC server. One for old appliance (this client should be no longer connecting) and one for newly deployed appliance. Technically in case you deployed new appliance with the same name, you have now most probably tvo clients with the same name in console, where on of them is no longer connection -> this one could be removed.

Yes IP is same, but name is different. Old VA is powered off and is visible in management. But I create update task on new appliance, why is targeted to old name? Are there any traces of old name in database?
