wiggly 0
Hi, at first I want to say hello to all of you I am a fresh Eset user, just testing 30 days trial period. I think I have configured it OK but I missed one option that might be very usefull. I would like set a password that would be required when someone or something will try to disable Eset processes. Does eset has this kind of feautre/setting? Thanks you in advance for any response and advise Best regards, wiggly
Administrators Marcos 4,915 Posted April 8, 2017 Administrators Share Posted April 8, 2017 You can set a password to protect settings and to prevent uninstallation. To set a password, open the advanced setup (F5) and navigate to User interface -> Access setup. ESET's processes ekrn.exe and egui.exe are protected by self-defense so there's no easy way to disable them.
wiggly 0
Hi Marcos, thanks for response. I have found and set this option earlier and it is working OK with protecting settings. Also I have tested it now and ekrn.exe process can't be disabled but egui.exe can. Something is not working properly in my config? Also I assume that egui.exe process is responsible for GUI only? Even when it will be disabled then my PC will be still protected. Am I correct? Regards, wiggly
